Although apples are available year round, when nights become crisp and fall is in the air, thoughts turn to these healthy delectable natural snacks. Asian pears can stand in for apples in many recipes. This one will focus on a healthy salad.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 Granny Smith or tart apples
  • 2 Asian Pears
  • 1/2 cup Red Grapes
  • 1/2 Red Onion
  • 1/2 Cup Walnuts
  • 1 Bag Mixed Greens
  • 1/2 cup Gorgonzola or Bleu Cheese
  • Balsamic Vinaigrette
  1. Step 1

    Put salad mix in a large bowl

  2. Step 2

    Add sliced onion

  3. Step 3

    Core and slice apples and Asian pears

  4. Step 4

    Pour Gorgonzola cheese over salad mixture

  5. Step 5

    Add Walnuts

  6. Step 6

    Add Grapes

  7. Step 7

    Add Apples and Asian Pears

  8. Step 8

    Pour Balsamic Vinaigrette over Mixture

  9. Step 9

    Toss Salad

  10. Step 10

    Serve

  • A great way to turn this salad into a complete meal is to add warm mildly-flavored grilled salmon filet
  • Have fun with this recipe. You can change the flavor by adding dried or fresh fruit like blueberries, strawberries, cherries.
