Do you ever wonder how you would be able to estimate your blood alcohol content? Have you wondered about how alcohol effects your body and what your blood alcohol content is at a given time?

Fortunately, new innovations and advancements in technology have led to the invention of a breathalyzer that can be used by the consumer.

A personal breathalyzer is an extremely valuable consumer electronic device that can help you prevent DUI, keep your friends and family safe and help you keep track of how much you have had to drink.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A BACTRACK® B70 Digital Breath Alcohol Testing Breathalyzer
  • Two AA Batteries
  • < 1 Minute of Time
  1. Step 1

Press and hold power for one full second. To prevent the BACTRACK Breathalyzer from accidentally turning on, tapping the power button for less than one second will not cause it to turn on.

  2. Step 2

After powering on, the unit will count down quickly from 50 to zero. This countdown takes approximately 10 seconds.

  3. Step 3

When the countdown approaches 10, begin to inhale a deep breath.

  4. Step 4

When the countdown reaches zero, the unit will flash "blow" and "0". Exhale through the dual-flow breath chamber for five seconds while holding it 1/2 inch (13 mm) away from the mouth.

Ensure mouth is open as though trying to fog a mirror or saying, "Hhhhhhha."

  5. Step 5

When finished taking a breath sample, the BACTRACK will circle the outer LCD fields for three seconds while analyzing the breath sample.

  6. Step 6

Once the BluFire® sensor technology has analyzed the breath sample, the estimated BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) value is displayed.

The test result will be displayed for 10 seconds. Then the test result will blink for another 20 seconds before shutting off.

  7. Step 7

If a user does not exhale a sufficient air sample through the Dual-Flow tube, the BACTRACK will display ERR. Press power twice to retest and be sure to exhale continuously for at least five seconds. This feature helps achieve accurate results by ensuring a deep lung air sample is taken.

Tips & Warnings
  • To turn the power off at any time, press and hold the power button for one second.
  • Do not pucker lips together as though blowing out candles or whistling.
  • Users must wait 20 minutes after eating, drinking, or smoking before blowing into the BACTRACK Breathalyzer. Failure to wait 20 minutes can provide inaccurate test results and damage the sensor.
