Things You'll Need:
- A plastic pumpkin
- Styrofoam
- Fake fall flowers
- Glue
- Knife
-
Step 1
First you will want to prepare the plastic pumpkin by carving the top off with a knife. Be very careful when using the knife, as cutting a round surface such as this can be very tricky. Carve the top off as you would a real pumpkin. It should be hallow inside.
-
Step 2
Next you will want to find your piece of styrofoam. The styrofoam should be big enough to fill a majority of the inside of the pumpkin. You may want to get green styrofoam and can find it at your local craft store with the fake flowers. Place some glue at the bottom of the styrofoam and press it firmly to the bottom inside of the pumpkin. If there is any poking above where the pumpkin is cut, saw it off.
-
Step 3
This is the fun part! Pick out a bunch of fake fall flowers that catch your eye! You will also want to add other accents to your centerpiece such as fall berries or leaves.
-
Step 4
Begin to poke the flowers into the styrofoam in the manner you wish for them to appear. Get creative here and remember that it is all up to you. Looking online at pictures of other centerpieces may help you.
-
Step 5
Now add your accents. A good idea would be to glue some berries around the inside of the pumpkin to hide the gap/styrofoam and throw in a few leaves. It's really up to you.
-
Step 6
Display your piece! Everyone will love the way it looks and wonder where you bought it. This is where you proudly tell them that you made it! Enjoy!
