Use an average size mug that holds about 12 ounces of liquid. Pour in the desired amount of apple juice. Heat in microwave 1 1/2 minutes or until hot-not boiling. It needs to be the temperature of a good cup of coffee-pleasantly hot, but not so much as to scald the tongue. Always test temperature before drinking.

  2. Step 2

Stir into hot apple juice 1 tsp. of honey and 2 tsp. of Apple Cider Vinegar.

  3. Step 3

Sip and enjoy a soothing drink when your under the weather. If you have a sore throat, this will be very beneficial to repeat throughout the day until the sorness subsides.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use Great Value brand apple juice for a more tart result. For a sweeter drink, use Libby's.
  • For children, I reverse the amounts-2 tsp. of honey and 1 tsp. of apple cider vingar.
  • Add cinnamon for an extra zip of flavor and nutritional benefit.
  • When fighting a cold, the flu, or even a bladder infection, I turn to this tried and true 'Grandma's Remedy'. Honey has anti-bacterial properties and the ph of vinegar makes for an inhospitable environment for bacterial growth.
  • Local honey may help with outdoor pollen allergies.
  • NEVER GIVE HONEY TO CHILDREN UNDER ONE YEAR OLD!
  • Always have an adult test the temperature of the liquid before giving to children under 13 years of age.
  • I am not a physician nor do I claim that this cures any disease, illness or infirmity.
