This was the bastard child of the few ingredients left in my kitchen last week. How to make a decent meal with a strange meat and no fresh vegetables? Turns out it's possible. And it turned out awesome!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2-3 bratwurst sausages
  • 1/4 c. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 package pasta (macaroni, flat noodles, bow-tie, rotelli, or a mixture!)
  • 2/3 c shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
  1. Step 1

Remove casings from bratwurst and crumble or slice into manageable pieces. Cook over medium heat with olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic and onion powders, and some of the parmesan cheese, turning occasionally.

  2. Step 2

Prepare pasta according to the instructions on the bag, or to taste.

  3. Step 3

Drain pasta and pour into a large mixing bowl. Pour bratwurst and olive oil mixture over pasta, followed by cheddar cheese. Turn pasta until well mixed, and the cheese melts.

  4. Step 4

Top with remaining parmesan cheese, and enjoy!
