How to create and inexpensive gourmet coffee and chocolate gift basket

Gourmet gift baskets for the holidays are as beautiful as they are expensive. You can save a lot of money by making your own. Below are some ideas for a chocolate and coffee basket.

Things You'll Need:

• Container
• Floral Foam
• Cellophane
• Ribbon
• Colourful Shredded Paper
• 2 Christmas Mug
• Gourmet Coffee
• Holiday Wrapped Chocolates
• Mixed Nuts
• Flavoured Beverage Syrup

1. Gather all your supplies for your basket.

2. Cut the floral foam to set in the bottom of the container. This will help elevate your items and give your basket a polished professional look.

3. Arrange your items in the basket.

4. Add the shredded colourful paper to cover the foam.

5. Wrap your basket in the cellophane or gift basket wrapping.

6. Tie off the top of the cellophane with a pretty holiday ribbon.

7. Give your basket away and warm someone's holiday.

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure your container isn't too large. If its the right size any small amount will look like packed basket.
• I always buy my items from dollar stores and other discount places. Typically my gourmet coffee and chocolate holiday basket costs about $15 to put together.
• Vary the height of the foam in the bottom to give interesting levels.
• Instead of cellophane you can also buy gift basket shrink wrap, you'll just need a hair dryer or better, a heat gun.
• If you use shrink wrap with a heat gun be careful, the heat gun gets very hot.
