Things You'll Need:

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 28-30 oz. tomato sauce
  • 15 oz. can whole tomatoes
  • 15 oz. can light red kidney beans
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 tsp. chopped garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1/2 cup chili powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • Zesta Saltine Crackers
  1. Step 1
    5 Qt. pot

    In a 5 quart pot, brown ground beef and drain grease. Add about 28 to 36 ounces of tomato sauce,one can of whole tomatoes (chopped),one half cup of ketchup, and a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.
    Turn to medium high heat and stir.

    Dice large onion finely, and add to mixture. Continue adding one half teaspoon of ground cumin, garlic salt,one teaspoon chopped garlic, three bay leaves, and ground pepper. Add to the mixture, half of the chili powder (saving other half), 16oz. water, stir well.
    Heat until chili comes to a boil, then, reduce heat to low and stir.

    Light red kidney beans

    Cook chili for 1 hour, stirring often. Stir in kidney beans, juice included; continue cooking for another 45 minutes. Use remaining chili powder, stir and continue cooking for an additional 10 minutes.
    Remove from heat and let sit for at least 10 minutes.Serve with your favorite saltine crackers.

Tips & Warnings
  • For a spicier chili add crushed red pepper or diced chili's
  • Make Spaghetti for a chili spaghetti
  • You could add chopped green peppers if you like.
  • Top with cheddar cheese
  • Top with Parmesan
  • Chili will be very hot careful not to burn roof of mouth.
