One of the most amazing seasoning mixes for Mexican dishes! Here's another copy cat recipe for Taco Bell. This can be used for so many of Taco Bell's dishes and appetizers or to give your taco or Mexican dishes the perfect blend of seasonings.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 tbsp. A.P.F. (all purpose flour)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon granulated sugar
  1. Step 1

Combine your all purpose flour (a.p.f.), cornstarch, dried onion flakes, beef bouillon granules, garlic salt, ground cumin, paprika, chili powder, onion salt, cayenne pepper, and granulated sugar in a plastic Ziploc type bag.

  2. Step 2

Shake the bag generously to incorporate all the seasonings and spices together.

  3. Step 3

Add this mixture to 1 lb. of the taco meat of your choice, beef, chicken, pork, etc.

  4. Step 4

Immediately add 3/4 of a cup of water to the meat and seasoning mixture. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat for 7 to 10 minutes. Tah-dah! Works every time and is pretty much dead on for the same taste. This'll definitely save you some money on not going out to eat as well as not having to spend the money on seasoning packets that you probably already have in your cupboard.

Tips & Warnings
  • Not just for the "one pound method"...

on 2/4/2009 Taco Bell has some good menu items. I also like that fancy semi flat bread they have. Can't remember the name of it. Thanks for the seasoning recipe. Great article.
