Things You'll Need:
- At least on rose bush
- A pair of pruning shears
- Gardening gloves
-
Step 1
Use pruning shears. You should always put on your gardening gloves. When your first roses of the season have bloomed out and now are beginning to die, use your pruning shears and cut the stem off, just below any limb with at least four leaves on it (very important).
-
Step 2
Branch with at least 4 leaves.Cutting just below a branch with four or more leaves on it, will cause the rose bush to create more little branches containing more little rose buds which will soon become big, beautiful roses!
-
Step 3
Water often.Remember to keep your rose bushes watered regularly. Also remove any yellow, brown or spotted leaves as soon as possible to prevent the spread of disease. You can use Sevin dust to keep bugs from eating your rose buds and leaves.
