One of the newest trends in wedding decor is the use of fruit. Here's some ideas for how to incorporate this trend into your own wedding.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Place whole fruit in glass vases, buckets, or baskets. You can add flowers if you choose, though it is not necessary. The key is to choose sturdy fruits that won't easily smash.
You can select fruits based on their color. Yellow lemons, orange pumpkins or kumquats, purple grapes, red cherries, or green limes can each compliment many pallets.
Fruits can also represent something about you or your groom. Are you from Washington State? Green apples make a nice tribute to your roots. Are you getting married in sunny Florida? Bright oranges will add spice to decor. Think about fruits that are grown in your area.

  2. Step 2

Put sliced fruit into vases. This works especially well with the citrus fruits- lemons, limes, grapefruit, oranges. Line the inside of a vase with the open-faced middles of these fruits.

  3. Step 3

Let's not overlook fruit's closest cousin: Veggies! Vegetables can be a great addition to flower arrangements. A nice eggplant, an artichoke, some asparagus tucked into a display can add an earthy element.
