Setting goals are a way for you to create the life of your dreams. By following this method of goal setting you can lay out a plan for achieving success.

Things You'll Need:

  • All you need to accomplish anything in life is a set of clear goals, persistence, & desire
  1. Step 1

    Begin by breaking your goals in to three categories; Personal, Economic, Things. In each of the categories write down the the areas or accomplishments you wish to achieve. Personal goals are about self development, i.e. Learn a new hobby, take a class. Economic goals are aligned with increasing wealth. An economic goal might be increasing your monthly income or saving for retirement. Thing goals are desires for specific items like new car or boat.

  2. Step 2

    Once you have your goals written out take a moment to number them by importance. Starting with the most important goal, set a timeline for achieving the desired result. The timeline should be realistic in order to allow you the time needed to accomplish the goal.

  3. Step 3

    Create action steps to take. The next action should be the move or steps you need to make in order to you goals a reality. Put your goals in action. The goals, timeline, and action items are your tool to assist you in achieving & realizing your dreams. When you choose to take action, your dreams can become reality.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check in on your goals from time to time. See how far you have come towards achieving them. Remember that without action your goals are only a piece of paper.
  • Sticking to your goals can be harder than setting them, so get support! Find a pal, mentor or get a Coach. They will help you stick to them, and give you added support for the journey.
