Things You'll Need:
- A vegetable garden that has worms or other pests.
- Herbs to plant amongst your veggies.
-
Step 1
Marigold is one of my favorites for getting rid of pests in the garden. It keeps away nematodes, Mexican bean beetles and a lot of other bugs. I plant it all through my garden.
-
Step 2
Summer Savory helps deter bean beetles when planted by your beans.
-
Step 3
Basil is not only a wonderful herb to cook with but, it is also helps repel flies and mosquitos. Plant this tasty treat next to tomatoes.
-
Step 4
Dead nettle and Horseradish both keep potato bugs at bay.
-
Step 5
Borage helps control tomato worms and is good planted next to squash and strawberries as well.
-
Step 6
Garlic is wonderful for it's flavor as well as keeping aphids, and rose bugs away from your roses.

on 11/11/2008 This article is a great compliment to your other article, "How to Be a Penny Pincher". Not only can you save money by avoiding pesticides, but most of the items that you recommended above can also be used for culinary purposes. A big win-win. Nice work!
