Things You'll Need:
- eBay account
- Something to sell
-
Step 1
Start and eBay account or see your prepared account.
-
Step 2
Select what you are going to sell. You can pretty much sell anyting on eBay.
-
Step 3
Click on the "SELL" tab on eBay.com.
-
Step 4
Next click on "start selling" or "sell an item". You may have to sign in if you are not already signed in.
-
Step 5
A search box will come up. Type what you are selling and then click search.
-
Step 6
Then you will have to pick the category that best describes your item. You can pay more to have your item in multiple categories. This helps eBayers find your item. When you have selected your item click continue.
-
Step 7
You will have to search for your item again. eBay will bring up pictures of their items and you have to choose the one that is your item. Sometimes (Depending on what you're selling) you'll skip this step.
-
Step 8
eBay will add a generic product description of your item.
-
Step 9
Next create your title. eBay might already have one for you, but you can change it.
-
Step 10
Then choose the item specifics (such as condition, type, brand. . .) from drop down lists.
-
Step 11
Now add pictures to of your item or use the generic one eBay may have given you. Adding pictures costs more money, but the first is free. I recommend adding more pictures for more expensive items (like ipods). When people make a big purchase they want to see more specifics.
-
Step 12
Describe your item in the description box. You can change the font and the color of the font. Try to give as much info as possible. Uplay the benefits of your item and downplay its few flaws, but be honest or someone will give you bad feedback.
-
Step 13
Now choose a starting price for your item. Starting with a lower price is usually best, it will attract more bidders and they will probably bid up to higher prices then you would make with starting with a high price. It is personal preference though for how high you set it.
-
Step 14
You can choose the quantity and duration of your listing. You can also give some of your profit to chairity.
-
Step 15
Next you select your shipping price and where you ship to. You can use eBay's shipping calculator or go to your post office to calculate shipping.
-
Step 16
Now you can add additional instructions then list your auction! Good Luck!
