Adobe Photoshop is the premier image editing tool used by professionals and freelance graphic designers alike. Here is a brief tutorial on how to create bevel (and emboss) on text.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Open Adobe Photoshop. Go to File, then click New. Choose a white background and any width and height for your canvas. Use RGB color mode. Leave it as Untitled, this is just a simple tutorial!

  2. Step 2

Find the Text tool, its symbol is the letter T. Click inside your white canvas and type in the words "Simple Bevel". Use black for your font color, you'll see the differences better this way.

  3. Step 3

Anti-alias the text in your font toolbar to Crisp or Strong. This is will make the bevel show up better. Then go to your Layers menu and highlight the layer with the text on it -- it will have the name "Simple Bevel" if that is what you typed in. Right click the layer and go to Blending Options.

  4. Step 4

The fifth attribute in the Blending Options menu should be Bevel and Emboss. Click this and your text will be beveled! You can also add the sub features such as Contour and Texture (or all three) if you so choose.
