How to use hairspray in and around the house

Okay, we all know hair spray will keep your hair in place, but how many know that it has other great uses in and around the house?

• Hairspray

1. Stop insects where they are with a quick shot of hair spray. Simply spray them and the sticky spray will coat their wings and they won't be able to fly. A quick fix when you are out of wasp spray.

2. Coloring your hair and dripped some of the coloring onto your shirt? A quick shot of hair spray will fix that. Simply spray on and blot off. Also works well to clean ink off of clothing or surfaces. Use to remove lip stick and other cosmetic stains on clothing.

3. Stop that run in its tracks on your stockings or nylons. Simply spray the run with a quick shot of hair spray and it will stop. You will be able to extend the wear of your stockings and nylons.

4. Did your son or daughter draw you a beautiful pastel or chalk drawing? Simply give it a quick spray of hair spray and your little artist will have a life time memory. A perfect fixative for your young artists artwork.

5. Dried flowers always look beautiful but they seem to loose some of the luster and often times petals begin to fall off. To help prevent this give them a nice little hair spray spritz. It will prolong their beauty and protect them from dust.

6. Doing some sewing and can't get that needle to thread? Simply spray your thread with a spritz of hair spray and watch your thread glide right through that needle.

7. All done polishing the brass in your house? Give it a quick spray of hair spray to retard tarnishing.

8. Spray hair spray on a way ward zipper that won't stay up.

9. Use hair spray to dissolve glue on a purchased item that the glued on tag won't come off.

10. Laminate your collection of recipe cards to prevent them from getting splatters. Hair spray will keep them clean.

11. Spray hair spray on the Sunday comics to give them a nice shine. Let dry and use as wrapping paper for a gift.

12. Tired of that pet hair all over the sofa? Simply spray a cloth with hair spray and blot the affected area. The cloth will be sticky and pick up the pet hair.

Tips & Warnings

• There are many many uses for hair spray besides your hair.
• Never spray hair spray around a flame. It is flammable.
• If sprayed into eyes rinse with lots and lots of water immediately. Unless of course you were being assaulted and used it as self defense, then run!
