How to Redeem S&H Green Stamps

How to Redeem S&H Green Stampsthumbnail
Trade S&H Greenpoints for a multitude of household products.

Trading stamps, an early marketing tool, encouraged customers to visit stores offering the stamp premiums over others without the rewards. Sperry & Hutchinson (known as S&H), Blue Chip, Gold Bond and Quality Stamp were just a few of the trading stamp companies represented in national and local retail stores. The S&H Green Stamp program, founded in 1896, offered stamps and redemption centers throughout the U.S. The company entered the electronic age in 2000 with the introduction of S&H Greenpoints, a virtual form of the old school paper stamps and collection books. Consumers holding S&H individual stamps and full books can still redeem them for cash or convert them into the new Greenpoints.

Prepare your old S&H Green Stamps for conversion or cash redemption. S&H no longer operates redemption centers, and all new Greenpoint catalog reward requests require using the online service. Convert stamps by pasting them into redemption books or by gluing groups of 1200 stamps onto blank paper. Note the total stamp value on a piece of paper. Calculate the total number of points represented by the stamps using the denomination on the actual stamps. Discard paper stamp certificates as these no longer hold any current value for redemption.

If redeeming your stamps for S&H Greenpoints in lieu of a cash reward, register for the Greenpoint program. Registration for the program includes two options. The first involves using a paper-and-pen application at a local store that accepts Greenpoints. The second option offers registration using the links on the S&H Greenpoint main Web page.

File a formal request for your stamp conversion. Write a letter that includes your name, address, daytime phone, your Greenpoints membership number if requesting a Greenpoint conversion, and the type of redemption. List also the total number of stamps from your calculations. The stamp redemption process includes either a request for points or a statement requesting cash. A complete book of stamps, or 1200 points, equals $1.20 or 1,200 new Greenpoints. Send the stamps and the formal request to: S&H Solutions, Attn: Green Stamps Processing Department, 1625 South Congress Avenue, Suite 200, Delray Beach, FL 33445.

Redeem your converted stamps online. Examine your S&H Greenpoint rewards to confirm the paper stamp conversion matches your records and browse the online catalog for items. The official Greenpoint website provides a point total when the cardholder logs in. Log in requires inputting the membership number on the main Web page and clicking on the appropriate boxes to advance the computer screens. The catalog organizes gift cards and gift certificate rewards by type of service and by number of points required for redemption.

Complete your online order for your catalog selections. Click on the items you wish to buy, and the system automatically lists your purchases. Click on the "check out" button, and the system confirms the shipping address and deducts the amount of stamps converted to Greenpoint rewards from your total reward amount.
