Taking apart your Super Nintendo Game is a great way to clean the contacts of the game and the insides.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3.8mm security bit
  • Screw Driver for the bit
  • Super Nintendo Game Cartridge
  1. Step 1
    Security bit

First you will need a special 3.8mm security bit take the screws off along with a screwdriver attachment for the bit. You can find these for very cheap on eBay which is where I got mine.

  2. Step 2
    Remove screws

Now that you have your tools and game let's start this very easy process. First remove the screws in the front of the game.

  3. Step 3

Next slide the top half forward a little and remove. Be sure not the break the little holding clips at the top of the game. Now you can remove the circuit board.

  4. Step 4
    Circuit Board

This isn't really a step but notice how small the actually game is. You may notice a medium size battery that kind of looks like a watch battery. This is only on some games. It is used to keep your game saves. When your game stops saving this is usually the problem. Also this will give you better access to the game contacts so you can clean them.

Tips & Warnings
  • Once apart take the time to clean the contacts.
  • Don't lose the screws
