How do you pick the videography that best fits you and your needs?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

When looking for a videographer for your important event, such as a wedding, you don't want to just hire the first guy you find. It's like searching for a car. You want to look around till something stands out to you. And, it's not always the cheapest that is the best.

  2. Step 2

Check out samples of work, to see if a particular style suites you. You will hate watching a video of your wedding of footage and editing you can't stand to watch.

  3. Step 3

See packages that are offered. A rule of thumb I stand by is that If they are bound by hours, try not to bother. I personally think the videographer should want to do all he can, and not want to leave early.

  4. Step 4

Prices are important, but not that important. Someone who is inexpensive, might also mean he is inexperienced. You should be able to get decent coverage for between $800-1200. Additional costs may come with adding cameras, HD footage, or other extras.

  5. Step 5

Referals are a plus. Ask your friends if they know of someone, then apply these steps just like everyone else. Just because your friend liked them, doesn't mean you will.

  6. Step 6

Overall, finding a videographer who has your best interest in mind might be hard to do, but not imposible. Remember he is working for you. This is your wedding. What are you looking for?
