How to Tell if Seeds Will Germinate
Gardening is one of the simple pleasures of life. If you are starting your plants from seed, use this simple method to see which of the seeds will germinate. Does this Spark an idea?

Choose a small container or plastic cup for each variety of seed. With a permanent marker, label each cup. Fill the cups half way with water. Set aside.
Open the seed packets and place the seeds in the designated labeled cup or container.
Gently stir the seeds to make sure all seeds are covered with water.

Place the cups in an area where they will not be disturbed. Allow the seeds soak overnight.

The next day, check your seeds. The good seeds will sink, the bad seeds will float!
Carefully skim the seeds that are floating. Discard these seeds, as they will not grow. Prepare your soil plant the seeds that are at the bottom of your cups. The sunken seeds will germinate! Happy gardening!
