Things You'll Need:
- a measuring tape
- a friend or a family member to help you measure
-
Step 1
Do this while wearing a non-padded bra. Expel all the air, use the measuring tape and measure directly under your bust. Add 4 inches when the measurement is even; and add 5 inches when the measurement is odd. This is your band size, it usually ranges from 30-36.
-
Step 2
With your arms at your side, measure your bust at the fullest level. You should ask your friend for help for this step. Round to the nearest full number.
-
Step 3
Now subtract the band measurement (step 1's number) from the bra measurement (step 2's number). For each inch difference, the cup goes up one size. For example, 1 inch difference is an A, 2 inches: B, 3 inches: C. For sizes over DD, this becomes less accurate. Your breast meausre is a combination of band size (step 1's number) and your actual cup size.
-
Step 4
If you don't want the hassle of measuring your own size. Go to a victoria's secret store (or other department stores) and the sales associate will measure your size for you.
-
Step 5
Sometimes you will need to try on different sizes even when you know your size. Finding the right fit is important and by actually trying bras is a good way to determine which size is the most comfortable for you.

on 12/11/2008 This is totally wrong!! You should not add 4 or 5 inches to the underbust, just round it to the nearest even number. This gives me a bra size of 34A, but I actually wear a 30E! Big difference!
