How to Make an Oriental Salad

This tasty salad is always requested for our family get togethers. It's easy to make and perfect for parties, baby/wedding showers, potlucks etc. Make this once and it definitely won't be the last time! It might even become your signature dish!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 3 packages oriental ramen
  • 2 bags of coleslaw
  • 6 green onions
  • 1/2 C butter
  • 1/2 C sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 C slivered almonds
  • 1 C salad oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 C vinegar
  • 1 C sugar
Step1
Wash onions and chop into small pieces. Mix with the coleslaw.
Step2
Melt the butter in a skillet and add the sunflower seeds, almonds and ramen noodles (break into pieces). Brown slightly.
Step3
In a saucepan, bring the oil, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar and one packet of the oriental seasoning from the ramen to a boil. Stir. Let cool.
Step4
In a large bowl combine the cooled sauce mixture and coleslaw. Serve and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings

  • This salad gets better the day after!
  • Be careful when browning the ramen. If it burns the taste will ruin the salad!
