Things You'll Need:
- 1 or 2 lbs. ground beef or ground venison
- 1 egg
- 2/3 cup dry bread crumbs
- 3 Tablespoons dry rice
- 1/4 cup sugar, or to taste
- 2 cans tomato soup
- 4 cups water
- pinch of grated onion, to taste
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
- 1 large or 2 small chunks of sour salt (citric acid crystal) found in spice section of market (if ground, start with 1/4 teaspoon and adjust as needed.

Step 1
Make meatballs, forming and rolling into small-medium size balls.
Use: ground beef or venison, salt, pepper, egg, dry breadcrumbs, dry rice mixture. -
Step 2
In large pot (dutch oven or stockpot) combine the following ingredients:
tomato soup, water, grated onion. -
Step 3
Bring ingredients in Step 2 to boil. Drop in meatball mixture from Step 1. Cover, reduce to simmer for 45 minutes.

Step 4
Add sour salt and sugar. Adjust seasonings to taste, reduce heat to low and cook an additional hour.
