There are many ways of removing hair, but here we will describe the removal of male body hair by two different methods: shaving and waxing.

  1. Step 1

Determine long you want the hair off. If you want the hair to be permanently removed, electrolysis is the best method. This will require professional assistance. If, however, you want the hair to grow back at some point, shaving and/or waxing are better options. Shaving an area will normally keep the hair off for about 2 to 4 days, depending on the individual. Waxing, on the other hand, tends to last longer, and will keep hair off for approximately 2 to 3 weeks.

  2. Step 2

Apply hot water to the area that will be shaved. Then liberally apply shaving cream to the area. Finally, take the razor blade and stroke with the grain of hair. Going against the grain may cause an uncomfortable friction and may lead to razor bumps.

  3. Step 3

Apply extremely hot wax to a desired area if choosing the waxing method. Quickly place wax paper on the hot wax and make sure it adheres to the wax. When this has been accomplished, take an end of the wax paper and pull up quickly. You are likely to feel some pain from the quick removal of wax paper.

  4. Step 4

Mind the after effect. After removing male body hair, some areas may be irritated. In order to soothe the irritation, after shave lotion (when shaving) and baby powder (when waxing) should be used. It should be noted that irritation is more prone to exist after the first time shaving/waxing an area, and should gradually decrease with additional sessions.
