You can use a hub to set up a network of computers. They will share one Internet connection, so there's no need to pay your ISP for multiple connections. Hubs are commonly referred to a Network Hubs or Ethernet Hubs. They all accept RJ45 connectors, which is the normal Ethernet cable you will receive with your DSL kit from your ISP. Some ISPs will even provide you with two knowing that most people use hubs or routers. They can also be purchased at any computer store or most discount chains for a few dollars.

Things You'll Need:

  • Hub
  • 2+ CAT5 or CAT6 cables
  1. Step 1

  2. Step 2

Make sure your DSL connection is working when hooked up directly to your computer.

  3. Step 3

Shut down both machines you intend to connect to the hub.

  4. Step 4

  7. Step 7

Boot up both computers and check your Internet connection.

Tips & Warnings
  • The simplest hubs should require no extra steps, but some will come with their own instructions or software. Make sure to read through everything that comes with your hub before installing it.
