How to Adopt a Wild Animal

There are several options when it comes to considering adopting a wild animal. You can adopt virtually any kind of animal. Adopting an animal is a good way to help preserve the wild life in our world and help support different species. You can adopt a wild animal for yourself or as a gift for a friend or family member. You can choose an agency on the web or ask a professional at your local zoo what else you can do to help protect wild animals all over the world.

Instructions

      Go to the World Animal Foundation's website and browse through the animals that are available for adoption (see Resources). There are many options to choose from.

      Click on the animal that you are interested in adopting. Read the information that is provided about that animal.

      Decide on the type of animal that you would like to adopt. At the bottom of the page, click on the link that says "Click here to adopt a (whichever animal you have chosen)."

      Once directed to a new web page, scroll down until you find the type of animal that you have decided to adopt.

      Once you have located your desired animal for adoption click on "Add to cart." When directed to a new page click on the view cart icon at the top right hand side of the page.

      Click on check out at the bottom of your invoice page. You will then need to fill out your contact information so you can receive your adoption package.

      Choose the type of delivery service that you would like for your adoption package, then enter your billing information. Once you have completed filling out your billing information using a credit card, you will click on the purchase button.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure that you research the animal that you are interested in to ensure that you are happy with the follow-up information you receive from the adoption agency.

  • You will not be receiving the actual animal that you see in the picture. The picture is merely a visual so you know what type of animal you will be adopting. You will receive a picture of the actual animal you are supporting in the mail following your purchase.
