How to Stitch a Triple Crochet

Triple crochet is an extended crochet stitch that forms a sort of cable when complete. It creates a lot of open space in your project, so it is better for creating a light afghan and not so good for clothing, unless you are creating a shawl or scarf where design trumps warmth. It can be found in simple patterns. It is abbreviated as "tr."

Things You'll Need

• Yarn
• Crochet hook

Instructions

1. Chain as many as you want to create the foundation chain to practice with.

2. Yarn over twice, which means wrap the yarn around the hook twice.

3. 

   Insert the hook into the fifth chain from the hook, yarn over, and pull through. There should be four loops on your hook now.

4. Yarn over and draw through two loops, leaving three. Repeat this twice more until there is only one loop left on the hook.

5. 

   Chain four to turn at the end of the row.
