Instructions

    • 1

Buy a plain wooden frame. Each one costs only a couple of dollars and can be found in any craft store.

Use tinsel and a single bow to decorate the frame. Spread a coat of Mod Podge all over the front, top, bottom and sides. Take a handful of tinsel and throw it on so that it covers the entire frame. It doesn’t matter how you do it, it will look interesting and beautiful no matter which way it falls. Press it down so it will stick. Give it time to dry then cut off the edges of the tinsel that isn’t stuck on the frame. Put a drop of glue on the back of a small red bow. Place it in the center of the front of the frame, either above the picture area or below it, and let it dry. You can now insert your favorite photo.

Decorate using peppermint sticks. Buy the sticks of peppermint, not the candy canes. Put a line of glue on the bottom of each stick and place them in columns on the photo frame. Put on one after the other until the entire frame is covered. Give it time to dry before you stand it up so that you can make sure that the sticks won’t slide down.

Put on some small bows. You can buy a bunch of mini bows that are usually meant to hang on a small Christmas tree. Take these bows and glue some of them on your wooden frame. Don’t worry about seeing the frame behind the bows. The colors will compliment each other beautifully.

Use evergreen branches and tiny pinecones. Put a coat of Mod Podge on your frame. Place some evergreen branches on the frame until it is completely covered. Take 4 tiny pinecones and glue one in each corner. Wait for all to dry before you stand it up. Put your picture in and then trim any needles that are in the way of your photo being seen. Don’t worry if some are spread over the edge of the picture, it will look more natural and less placed.
