How to Clean Glass With Newspaper

When cleaning windows with paper towels, streaking is a big problem. So is the paper dust left by paper towels, which can cause windows to look dirty and dusty. Cleaning windows with crumpled pieces of newspaper can alleviate both of these problems.

• Window cleaner

Giving Your Windows a Streak-Free Shine

1. Separate individual pages from a newspaper. You will need about one sheet per window.

2. Crumple each sheet of newspaper into a loose ball.

3. Spray the window with window cleaner.

4. Wipe the window cleaner away with the newspaper ball, in a downward motion.

5. Throw away the balled-up newspaper and use a new one for the next window.

Tips & Warnings

• Newspapers with larger pages are the best to use, as they are more absorbent.

• Do not use colored newsprint pages, such as the comics. Your windows will streak.

• Do not go in any other motion than down. You will get streaks and/or rip the newspaper.

• Do not saturate the window with window cleaner. A few spritzes will suffice.
