Make these autumn luminaries to light the way for those trick-or-treaters on Halloween night or your guests for Thanksgiving. Line your driveway, sidewalk or porch railing. Instead of leaves you can use other designs such as pumpkins, ghosts or scary cats.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Colored paper lunch size bags
  • Fall leaves
  • Acrylic paint
  • Spray bottle
  • Sand
  • Battery operated lights
  1. Step 1

    With the bag folded, lay leaves on top of bag.

  2. Step 2

    Fill a spray bottle half full of water.

  3. Step 3

    Add about 1 to 2 tsp. of acrylic paint to the water bottle.

  4. Step 4

    Shake it well to mix.

  5. Step 5

    Spray over the bag and leaves. Let it dry.

  6. Step 6

    Remove the leaves.

  7. Step 7

    Turn the bag over and lay leaves on top of the bag.

  8. Step 8

    Spray the paint over the bag and leaves. Let it dry.

  9. Step 9

    Remove the leaves.

  10. Step 10

    Repeat steps 5 through 9 for rest of the bags you are decorating.

  11. Step 11

    Open each bag and fill them with about 1-inch of sand in the bottom of each bag.

  12. Step 12

    Add a battery-operated light to each bag.
