How to Beat the Three Leaf Clover Mission in "Grand Theft Auto IV"

The "Three Leaf Clover" Mission is a long one, and fairly difficult, but well worth it. Upon the successful completion of this mission, you receive a cool $250,000, unlock Alderney Island, receive missions for Gerry and Derrick McReary, and make a friend out of Packie. It's worth it to spend a few minutes to gear up for this mission--body armor, a decent car and ammo all come in handy.

Instructions

The Bank

1. Meet Packie, Derrick, Gerry and Michael for drinks.

2. Drive the four of them to the Bank of Liberty on Southern Algonquin.

3. Watch the first cut scene upon entering the bank.

4. Head into the vault and grab the cash. Watch the next cut scene.

5. Shoot your way out of the bank. Clear out the police officers in each area before proceeding; don't attempt to simply run out of the bank.

The Street

1. Take up a position that is partially inside the bank. This gives you good cover for the coming fight.

2. Shoot the cop cars. They will explode, taking out any cops that happen to be in the area.

3. Follow Derrick and Packie. They will lead you into a nearby ally. Take up a position behind one of the trash cans on the right side of the ally.

4. Clear the ally of police. They are not difficult to take down from behind the trash cans.

5. Continue to follow Derrick and Packie. They will lead you to each individual fight with the police.

The Subway

1. Be careful heading down the stairs into the subway. There are more cops there that can surprise you if you're not ready.

2. Stay crouched when you encounter cops that are taking cover behind pillars in the subway. Take them out with a few head shots.

3. Head for the farthest pillar and take cover.

4. Kill the cops on the other side of the tracks.

5. Follow Derrick and Packie into the subway. After about 25 steps, turn and open fire on the cops that follow you into the tunnel.

6. Head down the tunnel and up the service exit on the right.

7. Go down the short hallway on the immediate right for a health pack.

8. Run for the four-door van once you get out into the open once again.

9. Follow the yellow path across the bridge. You might have to crash through a few cop blockades on the way.

10. Lose your wanted level with a pay and spray and you're home free.

Tips & Warnings

• Police officers are represented by red dots on your radar.

• Police cars are quite explosive, and will take out the cops that tend to use them as cover when they explode.

• Head shots are a good idea in this mission, as they cut down on the amount of time you spend shooting each cop, which shortens the amount of time you spend exposing yourself to incoming fire.

• Be careful not to take so much damage that the van explodes during the getaway.
