Things You'll Need:
- 2 Nunchaku
-
Step 1
Stand in a nunchaku ready stance. Legs are shoulder-width apart with one foot a step ahead of the other. Your weight should be evenly distributed between your legs.
-
Step 2
Hold a nunchaku in each hand. Place your hands at your sides with the sticks hanging down. Raise your arms straight up so both nunchaku swing up and over your shoulders. They will bounce harmlessly off the back of your upper arms.
-
Step 3
Swing downward and diagonally across your body with both nunchaku. One of your arms must go beneath the other one. It does not matter which goes above and which goes below. Just make sure they don't hit each other. Your arms will cross in front of you.
-
Step 4
Circle both nunchaku toward your body and upward. Swing them around until your hands are shoulder height. Both nunchaku will swing around the outside of your arms.
-
Step 5
Swing downward and diagonally again with both nunchaku. This time your hands are cutting outward toward your sides instead of inward toward your middle. Swing them around until your hands are about waist high.
-
Step 6
Swing both nunchaku up and around the outside of your body. Basically you are raising your hands up to your shoulder height. The nunchaku will swing up at your sides. When the nunchaku reach shoulder height you are very close to your starting position. From here you can do more figure 8's with two nunchaku by repeating the swinging motion.
-
Step 7
Capture the nunchaku in your arm pits. When you are finished swinging two nunchaku in figure 8's, swing them wider on their final rotation up the outside of your body. This will spread your arms apart. When your hands reach shoulder height, point your thumbs inward, down and toward your body. When your hands reach the level of your arm pits, bring your elbows to your body. This will trap both nunchaku in your arm pits.
