How to Do a High Crotch in Wrestling
In wrestling, every match starts with both wrestlers on their feet and each competitor is tasked with scoring a takedown: getting the other opponent down to his knees, while maintaining a dominant position behind him. The high crotch is a basic takedown technique that is used from a tied up position, as opposed to single and double leg takedowns that do not require a tie up.
Instructions

1
Secure an inside tie. This is done by grasping one of your opponent's triceps with an overhand grip.
-
2
Pull your opponent's arm over your head and behind you, as you drop to one knee and shoot your free arm between his legs. The knee that you should drop down is the knee opposite the side you have your inside tie on.

-
3
Lock your hands around your opponent's leg.

At this point you can drive up to your feet with the single leg locked, and trip your opponent to score a takedown, or switch your grip so that you are hooked around both his legs, and drive to the side, finishing the high crotch as you would a normal double leg takedown.

Tips & Warnings
The high crotch is an explosive takedown that allows the attacker to shoot in deep and tight when executed properly. As such, finishing the move as a double leg takedown is usually optimal.
Do not reach toward your opponent specifically to secure an inside tie to attempt a high crotch. The move should be thrown explosively and unexpectedly while pummeling for arm position.
