1
Look at your face. Are you pale? Sure, we all lose some color in wintertime, but look closely. Are you really pale and sickly looking?
-
2
Take stock of your overall physical health and condition. Are you weak, listless or tired all the time? Do you run out of breath performing the most basic of chores and activities? If so, it is likely that you are suffering from some type of anemia and you should schedule a checkup with your family care provider.

Take note if you seem to be constantly getting sick or if you suffer from an increased number of infections. Also take note if you seem to be suffering from unexplained or easy bruising of the skin.
-
4
Look at your skin. Do you see little red dots that look like bleeding? This is often a sign of anemia, and may also produce unexplained ease of bleeding from the nose, mouth, rectum and even the gums.
-
5
Look inside your mouth. Do you see any signs of ulcers, sores or signs of infection? If so, you may be suffering from aplastic anemia. Schedule a checkup with your family care provider so that he or she may perform some blood tests and see what's going on.
