How to Create a Scrooge Costume
Here's a way to throw people off on their seasons. Wear a Scrooge costume for Halloween! A Scrooge costume is easy for those who have worked on the stage show and have some old costumes or props. But anyone can do it, regardless.

1
Put on a gray wig. This should be flowing and a bit unkempt. Ebeneezer Scrooge is ready for bed, after all, as he embarks on this grand adventure.
-
2
Put on a nightcap over your wig. This should be the old-fashioned kind that is shaped rather like the traditional Santa cap. However, it should be all white and made of pajama materials.
-
-
3
Wear a night shirt--a long one, as Scrooge did. It should be white and match your night cap.
-
4
Put on a pair of simple slippers or night shoes to protect your feet outside. If the night shirt is long enough to conceal your footwear, go for anything simplistic.
-
5
Carry a candlestick. Ebeneezer Scrooge used this candlestick to guide him in the dark. Place a candle on the candlestick and light it. Try a new approach by placing one of those battery-operated candles on it so that your candle doesn't constantly go out as you trick-or-treat.
-
6
Get your bifocals on! Scrooge wore glasses. You want to get ones that look dated and old-fashioned. Hip, new glasses make no sense for this classic character.

Tips & Warnings
Don't let a child carry a candle if the costume is for him. Have him pick an alternate prop instead, like a money bag for counting his gold.
