How to Have Two Computers Share a DSL Modem
Your DSL line provides high-speed Internet to your home or business. Splitting your DSL connection between two computers works much like using an extension cord with multiple outlets. The line comes in and gives you outlets to branch off in different directions. Many new DSL modems now have two outlets to promote this usage. In the case that you have a modem that only permits one connection from the box, it can be easily split in about 10 minutes and for about $50.
Things You'll Need
- Gigabit Ethernet switch
- Two lengths of CAT5 cable (lengths depend on placement of the computers)
