Halloween is a fun time for children. However, you must take measures that will ensure your child's saftey and at the same time have some fun.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Halloween is just around the corner. Halloween is a fun time especially for children. You must keep your child safe while trick or treating this year. The best thing to do this Halloween is organize groups of children with in your immediate neighborhood designating one or two parents as guardians. Have the children go out for candy in groups with the guardian that was assigned to them. Have the one parent take their troop through the local neighborhood to collect their candy.

  2. Step 2

In addition, it may be wise to give your child a cell phone if by chance they become separated from their guardian. make sure the assigned parent takes a head count at the beginning and at the end. Most towns have curfews in effect, your child should be back in their home by dark. Even with a chaperone, you must instruct your child not to enter any one's home to get their candy. The person can hand the candy through the door, there is no reason whatsoever to go inside the house. After a few hours of trick or treat, the children should form a line and a final head count should be taken before departing for home.

  3. Step 3

Once your child arrives home and they change back into normal clothes, it is then time to examine the candy. Any unwrapped candy or any candy that looks like it has been tampered with should be disregarded. In addition, anything like candy or caramel apples should not be eaten. It is all too easy to place things inside an apple and it can go undetected. If you follow this plan your child will have a very happy and safe Halloween.
