But what about the music collection that sits at home? Do you need to spend a lot of money downloading the same music you already have on CDs? Not at all. You don't need to purchase all of that music again. There is a very simple way to transfer the music from your CDs to your iPod.

  • CDs
  • iPod with USB connector
  • Computer with iTunes installed

      Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB port. Once connected, iTunes will automatically open. A list of the songs on your CD should show up, with the box next to each song checked.

      Uncheck the boxes in iTunes next to any songs on the CD you do not want on the iPod.

      Click "Import," and iTunes will let you know how long importing will take in the top of the window.

      Repeat this process until all CDs that you desire have been added to your iPod.

      If you need to manually enter the song names of the songs your are transferring, click on the first song, then select "File." Next, select "Get info." Click on "Info" and then enter song information. To continue doing this with all songs, click "Next." When finished, select "Ok."
