1
Purchase lace at your local fabric store. You can purchase this by the foot, but if you do you will need to choose lace that is at least three inches wide. You can also purchase inexpensive lace by the yard. Select lace that is lightweight and has a fine design. A yard of lace is more than enough to complete this project.

2
Choose potpourri for your ornaments. Consider the scent of the potpourri. Select something lightly scented. You will be using a lot of this and it will be exposed to the open air; heavily scented potpourri may be to overpowering. Pay attention to the color of the potpourri you choose. It will show through the lace. Select potpourri that is red or rose colored for best results.

Measure a small scoop of potpourri and place it in the center of one of the lace circles. Fold the edges of the circle over the potpourri and gather at the top. Adjust the amount of potpourri to get the size you desire. Tie a narrow ribbon around the lace at the top of the bundle leaving a fluted edge of lace at the top. Attach a decorative cord or ornament hanger.
