Instructions

    • 1

Lay the scarf on a flat surface and smooth out any creases. You may iron the scarf if you wish, but this isn’t necessary as most wrinkles will be much less noticeable when the handbag is complete.

    • 2

Gather the fabric at each of the four corners of the scarf. Tie a knot in each corner, about 6 inches down.

    • 3

Bring the fabric above the top two knots together and tie them in another knot. It will take about 2 inches of fabric on each side to do this. Repeat with the bottom corners.

    • 4

Make sure the knots are tight and fluff out the remaining fabric “ears” above the top knots.

    • 5

Use your new handbag to carry your keys, wallet, checkbook or other necessities when you go out.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don't have a scarf, you can use a large square of any fabric to make this bag.

  • If you plan to carry heavy items in your bag, you may want to place two scarves on top of one another before beginning the process. This will make the bag sturdier.
