Lightening facial hair is one way to minimize its unsightly appearance. Normally, this method works best with sparse growth. Any hair over a quarter of an inch will still be noticeable and require removal.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Toothbrush
  • Petroleum jelly
  • Lightening cream or kit
  • Facial hair dye
  1. Step 1

Bleach facial hair. Do it with a bleaching facial cream. Follow the instructions that come with the product in order to get the best results.

  2. Step 2

Apply a lightening gel to your facial hair. Make sure you apply it in a lukewarm area or it will loosen and drip. Need a recommendation? A popular product is Skin So Soft Gel Lightener sold by Avon.

  3. Step 3

Squirt your facial hair with 100 percent lemon juice. Go out into the sun right afterward for at least 30 minutes. Repeat the process for a week. It will naturally lighten up your facial hair.

  4. Step 4

Dye your facial hair a lighter color. Use a specially designed over the counter product. Look for one that is commonly used to dye eyebrows. It will be safe for your face and come in a variety of colors.

  5. Step 5

Visit a beautician. Make sure it’s one who specializes in facial hair. Allow this professional to lighten your hair color.

  6. Step 6

Apply cover up make up to your facial hair. Use a thick one that matches your natural skin tone. It will saturate your facial hair and lighten its appearance.

Tips & Warnings
  • Line the area around your facial hair with petroleum jelly before you apply hair lighteners. It helps stop them from running.
  • Don't use peroxide or real bleach to lighten your facial hair because it is a skin irritant.
