This article will teach you how to come up with utterly random questions to ask your friends. This practice will unleash creativity in a powerful way in your life and in your fictional writing if you do it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An open mind
  • An interesting environment
  • An ability to think randomly.
  1. Step 1

    Look around at your environment.

  2. Step 2

Pick an object that is somewhat mundane or ordinary to you.

  3. Step 3

Think of a movie or book that you found really interesting.

  4. Step 4

Find a way to incorporate the ordinary object into a question involving one or more characters from the book or movie.

  5. Step 5

Throw in a figure from popular entertainment or politics that you either greatly despise or couldn't care less about.

  6. Step 6

Try to think of something horrible that could happen to the person from the last step involving the mundane object and the characters from the book or movie.

  7. Step 7

Add in one more thoroughly random element such as a certain style of clothing, a certain kind of food, some form of nakedness, or one of your friends.

  8. Step 8

Form a question involving all these things in a random fashion and ask a friend that knows you well what they would do if they saw this happening or if it happened to them (as opposed to the popular entertainer or politician from Step 5.

Tips & Warnings
  • This is a very formulaic way to come up with a question. Feel free to introduce your own ideas to it.
  • Incorporate something that is unique to your and your friends' lives.
  • Do not ask someone that you have just met one of these questions or they will think you are insane (rather they will KNOW you are insane).
  • Do not ask a member of the opposite sex one of these questions, especially if you're trying to impress them.
