How to Make English Muffin Bread

English muffin bread is a fantastic breakfast that everyone loves in my house. It tastes just as delicious as regular muffins for a fraction of the cost. We pair it with my cherry rhubarb jam or my blueberry rhubarb jam for an unforgettable treat!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 5 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • cornmeal
  1. Step 1

    Mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt and baking soda.

  2. Step 2

    Warm liquids to 120F-130F.

  3. Step 3

    Add dry mix to warm mix.

  4. Step 4

    Mixing well stir in enough four to make stiff batter.

  5. Step 5

    Grease and sprinkle cornmeal into 2- 8 1/2 X 4 1/2 pans. Pour batter in pans.

  6. Step 6

    Cover and let rise for 45 min. in warm place.

  7. Step 7

    Bake for 25 min. at 400 degrees.

  8. Step 8

    Remove from pans and cool.

Tips & Warnings
  • I like to slice this bread and toast it all at once, it can then be heated in the microwave for a quick breakfast.
