How to Enjoy Free Activities in Las Vegas

Sin City has never been known as a place that is easy on the pocketbook. Top notch shows, high-dollar gambling and exquisite hotels can make you crave a little free entertainment. Luckily, for the savvy visitor, there is a great amount of no-cost activities if you know the right places to look.

Enjoy all the unique architecture the city has to offer by lacing up a pair of comfortable shoes and walking “The Strip.” Nowhere else on earth can you see Venice’s gondolas, Paris’ Eiffel Tower, a glass pyramid and a medieval castle all within a few miles of one another.

Stop in at the Bellagio and take in the hotel that has more free activities than all others. Start out front of the hotel and wait for the hourly fountain show, which includes a grand water-spraying show set to music. Proceed past the lobby to the Bellagio garden. This indoor garden has a themed grouping of seasonal flower sculptures on display. Finish off your Bellagio tour by feasting your eyes on the chocolate fountain.

Wait until nightfall to see quite possibly the most entertaining free show in Las Vegas, the Pirates Show at Treasure Island. Here, two life-sized replica pirate ships go to war in a choreographed, cannon-firing battle of the sexes. Show up early, as the space closest to the water tends to fill up for the hourly shows.

Move down the Strip to Treasure Island’s neighbor, the Mirage, for quite possibly the oldest free show on the strip. The Mirage volcano has come to symbolize no-cost entertainment on the strip. Here a combination of lights and water re-create the bubbling, spraying excitement of an actual volcano.
