1
Choreograph your own moves to the music. This is best left to the truly talented, but all should attempt it during the holidays. You'll get a free pass if you mess it up because, after all, it's the holidays. Listen to the music, feel the beat and let your feet take flight. Let your arms in on the action. Involve your whole body. If dancing with a partner, take the lead, whether you're male or female. Lead your partner on this fun journey you're creating. Stay true to both the lyrics and the music of the song. If worse comes to worst, blame the eggnog.

2
Burn a mix tape or CD of all of your favorite Christmas music, or put together a playlist for your iPod. This will help you develop your moves.

Not only will you be able to learn dance moves to standard and fun holiday tunes, you can observe yourself in the mirror to see what looks good and what looks like you had too much eggnog. Evaluate and refine your moves before you debut them at the company Christmas party or family gathering.

Go to the holiday dance at your school or community group. Even if you're not ready to jump in with your own dancing, observe established dances to holiday standards. Seeing a group of 30 or more groove to "Let It Snow" will build up your own confidence. You'll soon be jumping onto the dance floor yourself. Ask a partner to dance and let her lead if you're still nervous. The important thing is that you are out there trying.
