Rolling Yahtzee Dice
A family game night is a great way to draw kids and parents together sharing conversation, laughter, and fun. Put out a bowl of popcorn, glasses of soda and warm up the Yahtzee dice for an evening of friendly competition. If you haven't played in a while use the simple steps below to refresh your memory.

How to roll the Yahtzee dice

Put all five Yahtzee dice into the cup.

Put your hand over the dice cup and shake.

Toss the dice out of the cup onto the table or into the lid of the Yahtzee game.

Look at the numbers you rolled and keep the ones you want on the table. Put the others back in the cup.

Roll two more times, each time keep the dice you want to use for your score on the table and put the others back in the cup.

Add up your score after the third roll of the dice. See Section 2 on how to score.

Pass the dice and cup to the person on your left and continue around until everyone has rolled the dice.

Continue rolling the dice around the table until the score sheets are filled up and there is a winner
How to Figure Your Yahtzee Score

Roll a three of a kind. Three dice are the same numbers and the other two different. Write the total of all the dice on your score sheet under three of a kind.

Roll four of a kind. Four dice are the same numbers and one is different. Write the total of all the dice on your score sheet under four of a kind.

Roll a full house. Three dice are the same number and the other two dice are the same number as each other. Score a 25 on your score sheet under Full House.

Roll a small straight. Four of the dice are in sequence such as 1, 2, 3, 4. Score 30 on your score sheet under a Sm. Straight.

Roll a large straight. All five dice are in sequence such as 1,2,3,4,5. Score 40 on your score sheet under a Lg. Straight.

Roll a Yahtzee. All five dice are the same number. Score a 50 on your score sheet under a Yahtzee.

Roll dice. Count and add together only the common number rolled such as ones, twos, threes, fours, fives or sixes. Example: three dice rolled are fives and two dice are one and three. You total only the fives and put your score in the upper section of the score sheet under Fives. Do this for all the numbers.

Roll the dice three times and if there isn't anything you can do add the total of all the dice and put the score under Chance on your score sheet.
