Make Balsamic Sesame Chicken
Make Balsamic Sesame Chicken

Another great dish to put in a bento lunch. Using a chicken thigh provides a nice change from a breast, which can get very dry when cooked. A lot of people (at least 2 of my roommates) don't really like how much chewier the thighs are than breasts, but this tastes very good, I promise.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • package of chicken thighs
  • 1 1/2 T balsamic vinegar
  • 1 1/2 T soy sauce
  • lots of sesame seeds, no exact amount
  • cooking spray (more reliable than pouring on oil)
  1. Step 1

Take the skin off the chicken thighs and trim off any excess fat and unwanted parts.

  2. Step 2

Cut into small chunks and mix with the balsamic vinegar and soy sauce in a bowl.

  3. Step 3

Mix around the chicken, vinegar and soy sauce and let marinate for at least 10 minutes

  4. Step 4

Put a skillet over medium-high heat and once hot enough, spray with cooking oil.

  5. Step 5

Dump a bunch of sesame seeds in a bowl

  6. Step 6

Place each piece of chicken in the bowl and cover entirely with sesame seeds, pressing very hard in order to get them remain stuck to the chicken during the cooking process

  7. Step 7

Lay 6-7 pieces as flat as you can on the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side

  8. Step 8

Repeat step 7 until you run out of chicken

  9. Step 9

Eat immediately, cold or room temperature in a bento lunch.

Tips & Warnings
  • Best served with rice and other accoutrements
