Apply Bullets using MS Word 2003 - FOR BEGINNERS!

Microsoft (MS) Word is one of the most widely used computer programs in the world. One of the more powerful tools within the program is its ability to apply bullets to lists.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a computer
  • Microsoft (MS) Word
  • a basic understanding of computer use
  • a basic understanding of MS Word
  1. Step 1

    An easy method to insert bullets is to apply the bullets **after** your content is typed into your document. Therefore, type your content first, then apply the bullets last.

  2. Step 2
    Highlight your list.

    Highlight ONLY the text to which you wish to add bullets.

  3. Step 3
    Access your mouse's menu.

    Right click on your mouse, which will enable a mini drop-down menu.

    Scroll down to the fifth option, called "Bullets and Numbering." Highlight "Bullets and Numbering" with your cursor to single out this option. Then, left click your mouse to select the "Bullets and Numbering" option.

    Highlight the bullet-type you prefer.

    A new window should appear, offering you various bullet-types to choose from. Select the bullet-type you prefer by clicking on the corresponding bullet-type picture. After "selecting" your preferred bullet-type, you will see that the box of the bullet-type you prefer will be highlighted.

    Once your preferred bullet-type is selected, or highlighted, click the "OK" button at the base of the window. By clicking the "OK" button, you are applying the selected bullet-type to your previously-highlighted content.

    Save your document.

Tips & Warnings
