You can elect to take a ghost tour on foot, on a sailboat, or even on the “Ghosts & Legends” riding tour. Here, I will share with you how to take a ghost tour in St. Augustine, Florida this Halloween.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Some cash to purchase tickets
  • A digital camera
  • A digital audio recorder
  • A digital camcorder with night vision
  • A few hours to spare
  • Some friends and/or family members
  • An open mind
  1. Step 1

The first thing that you must do is be in St. Augustine, Florida when Halloween rolls around. This city is referred to as the “Ancient City”, as well as the “Nation’s Oldest City”. To the locals, tourists, and paranormal investigators and hobby ghost hunters, it is also known as one of the most haunted places in Florida, as well as the United States on the whole. In order to take a ghost tour this Halloween, you have to be in St. Augustine.

  2. Step 2

Now, you must decide if you want to take the walking tour, the sailboat tour, or the ghost tour that you ride through. I can honestly say that all of these tours are well worth it! If you want to have some spooky fun this Halloween, I highly suggest that you indulge in all three! This will provide you with the ultimate thrilling and haunting adventure ever!

  3. Step 3

Once you decide which type of tour that you would like to indulge in, you must contact “A Ghostly Experience” to make your reservations. You can give them a call at: (888) 461 – 1009. You may also contact them by email at: haunts@bellsouth.net.

  4. Step 4

Once you have made your reservations, you should go online to the website of “A Ghostly Experience” and check out the items that they have in their online store. Here, you can find books on the hauntings of St. Augustine, shirts, personal stories, and outstanding videos where you can view the tours offered, and even audio products with outstanding musical selections to enhance your Halloween experience. The store is located at: http://www.aghostlystore.com/store/store.htm . In the “Resource” section at the bottom of this page, you can find a direct link.

  5. Step 5

Before arriving at the tour location, it is important to gather up some ghost hunting equipment. I suggest the following:

    • Digital Camera
    • Digital Audio Recorder
    • Digital Camcorder w/Night Vision
    • Flashlight

This will help you capture potential ghost pictures, and ghost videos. Many, including myself, have captured pictures of strange phenomenon, such as orbs, rods, and strange lights and even potential ghostly figures! You can too!

  6. Step 6

While taking a ghost tour in St. Augustine, Florida can be an exciting adventure for anyone looking for some spooky fun this Halloween, many reading this may not be able to visit this area. There are many, many other haunted mansions, haunted museums, haunted graveyards, haunted forts, ghost towns, and other places around the United States that you can visit. A very close friend runs a website called “Haunted-Places-To-Go.Com” that specifically addresses places all around the country that are haunted and offer tours. You can find the website at: http://www.haunted-places-to-go.com/ . The direct link to this will also be featured in the “Resources” section below.

on 12/7/2008 The GPS Ghost tour was sweet. I went during the light hours and it was still creepy. I need to get back down there to go at night.

on 10/21/2008 My in-laws live in StAugustine and have told me of countless haunts. They live right down the street from the legendary haunted lighthouse. My husband said he only once got the courage as a kid to run to the lighthouse in the dark and touch it. Well....he lived;)
Fun and spooky article for Halloween!
