If you are looking for an easy way to make some extra money, you can get paid to do surveys online with very little upfront effort. There are a variety of online survey opportunities which are free to join and pay for each survey you complete. The key to success is learning which paid survey sites are worth your time and which are not.

Step 1

Before you begin to sign up for free paid online surveys, you should set up a separate email account. You can get a free email account from Yahoo or Google. Always use this email account to sign up with paid survey sites. This will protect your personal email from unwanted emails and help you to keep up with survey emails in a prompt manner.
Step 2

Search around for reviews of paid survey sites to see which are worth joining and which are not. Look for survey sites that pay in cash and avoid those sites that only pay in prizes. Check the websites of each online survey company to determine the minimum earnings required for payout. Avoid survey sites that require you to earn $50 or more before sending you a payment. Two recommended online paid survey sites are MySurvey.com and American Consumer Opinion Panel (see information in resource section).
Step 3

Sign up with 5-10 different online paid survey sites using your new email account. Since success with a given site is often dependent on your demographics, better to sign up with a few different survey sites to determine which ones are the most profitable for you. It is also helpful to fill out your profile on each site to get more relevant surveys sent. Never pay to join a online survey site.
Step 4

Check your email at least once a day for new surveys. Many surveys are only looking a limited number of participants so you will have more success if you take a survey quickly after the email is sent out. At first, fill out every survey that you are sent.

Monitor your earnings with each of the online survey sites you joined to determine which sites are most profitable. Consider your time spent with each survey site. Are the surveys from some sites longer but the payout is no better? You want to get paid to do surveys that take up the least amount of your time.
Step 6

Recommend your favorite survey sites to family and friends. Most online paid survey sites have a referral program that will provide you with a link for new sign ups. When your friends and family sign up through your link, you will earn a referral bonus and they will get paid to do surveys also.

on 6/20/2009 I've been taking surveys. They require a lot of time for very little pay, but it does help out getting a little extra money. I've found that surveysavvy is the best site out there, because they don't have any minimum payout and they give you a check. I received an $8 check in the mail.
