Things You'll Need:
- kid(s)
- kitchen
- something to cook/bake
- adult supervision
- patience
- fun!
-
Step 1
Most kids love to help out with the cooking, given the chance. Cooking together is a great way to spend some quality family time together and to also work on their culinary and team-player skills.
-
Step 2
Make the menu more child-friendly so they'll want to help out and it will be less of a headache for you. Think of menu items that are more assembled where children can help out more easily. A pizza is a good idea. They can help roll out the dough, pour on the pizza sauce, and sprinkle the cheese and vegetables on top.
-
Step 3
Another great idea would be Pigs in a Blanket. You an cut a slit lengthwise in a hot dog and your child can help stuff the hot dog with cheese and roll it up in crescent roll dough.
Children will take pride in the food that they've cooked up and will more than likely be happy to eat what they've prepared.
